Elsa's First Christmas

Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful day we had today as a family.  We had time together as a family this morning, Chad went to church while Elsa and I had Christmas snuggle time, and then we went to Chad's parents house for the afternoon.  Elsa wasn't quite sure about all that happened today and by the end of the day she was exhausted.  Even with all of that we tried to keep our focus on the reason for our celebrations today.  We took some time during our family breakfast to explain Christmas to Elsa (yes, I know she's not even one yet, but we wanted to start early!) which was also a good refresher for both Chad and I as sometimes Christmas can become so busy we lose our focus.  It was a fun day and such a blessing to have great time together as a family.

Elsa wasn't so interested in unwrapping gifts.  Rather she would sit on them, take the bows off, and then move on to the next one.
Here is Elsa with her Christmas gifts from Mommy and Daddy.
She was happy playing with the boxes.

Elsa found this doll at Nana and Papa's house and loved it - she kept giving it hugs!
Elsa and Elijah eating their Christmas dinner - Elsa was too busy too look at the camera!
Auntie T got Elijah and Elsa Jack-in-the-box toys and Elijah loved his.  He would scream and laugh each time it opened and then Elsa would mimic Elijah's actions - so it seemed like she had a totally delayed response to the toy opening, but she was really just copying Elijah.  It was really cute.
Elsa and Elijah checking out Elsa's huge present.
Elsa got a wagon!

We tried getting a family picture, but Elsa would not smile.
Cousin picture - it's not easy getting both of them to look in the same direction at the same time and getting both of them to smile while looking in the same direction is nearly impossible - but they're adorable anyway!

Such a special day! Every Christmas from now on will just get more and more fun for your sweet family! (Oh, and btw...that pic on my blog was taken last night before we opened gifts. Rowan is not that put together when she wakes up in the morning!) Merry Christmas to you!
