It is amazing to think that just four months ago we had a teeny tiny five pound newborn that wasn't quite sure she liked the idea of being in this cold, bright world. Oh how things have changed in the last four months!
Elsa - you are growing so big and strong and you are so much fun! Today you went to the doctor for your four month well-baby visit and you weigh 12 lbs., 10.5 oz. and are 24.5 inches long. You had to get shots and you most definitely did not like it.
Here are a few fun facts for us to remember what you were doing at four months old:
*You rolled over for the first time on Saturday! It was just after your bath and you were on your warm towel laying on the counter and Mommy had just finished putting lotion on your back and you leaned over to the side and sort of wobbled there and then you finished it and rolled over to your back. You were a little shocked and surprised and not quite sure what had happened, but you liked it when Mommy and Daddy clapped and cheered!
*You want to sit up on your own, but can't quite do it yet. So if Mommy or Daddy are holding you or playing with you on the floor, you want to be held upright. You like to sit in the Bumbo for a little while.
*You also like the jump-up. We put a blanket in front of your tummy and it holds you up nice and straight. You are doing a great job holding your head up too!
*You are putting everything up to your mouth - your hands are your favorite.
*You are reaching and trying to grasp toys. You haven't quite mastered holding onto a toy for very long. Whatever you have in your hands goes straight to your mouth.
*Milk is still your favorite food - you are eating about 6 ounces every 3-3.5 hours.
*You still like to nap a little while after you eat, but you're getting better at staying up for longer stretches. You still sleep at least a half hour (usually about 45 minutes and one nap lasts 1.5 hours) between your feedings.
*Thankfully the weather has gotten warmer so you've been able to experience going outside without being completely covered up!
*You are wearing 0-3 month clothes still, but you're getting close to moving into your 3-6 month clothes.
So big!
