Happy 6th Birthday!

Today Elsa is SIX years old!  It's so amazing to me that she's six.  We've really seen her personality grow and blossom this past year.  She's matured a lot since starting kindergarten, but definitely still has her stubborn, strong-willed, adventurous spirit!  She is learning and growing so much.  She is too smart for her own good!  :)

Elsa - here are your SIX year memories:
*You really like kindergarten.  You love going to South Side and really, really love Mrs. Strikwerda!  You've learned so much already this year!  You love math and really like to do math problems.  You're doing really well with learning your word ring words and are working hard to read them in a "snap"!
*You've made a lot of new friends at school and enjoy going to before and after school care.
*You've learned so many new Bible verses this year and can recite Luke 2: 8-14!  You do it with such great expression too!
*You are a growing girl and are asleep most nights between 7-7:30 and sleep until 6-6:30.  Not very often do you ever sleep in past 6:30.
*Your favorite foods are cinnamon rolls, cheese rings (tortellini), and pickles.
*You love reading Bible stories and doing your devotion each night before bed.
*You're writing a lot of sentences on your own.  Sometimes you ask for help with spelling words, but that's mostly because you don't want to sound spell.
*You love your little brother!  You take your big sister responsibilities seriously and like to "protect" and snuggle him.  You'll often say things like, "he's just so adorable".  You like to put your arm around him and rub his tummy while talking to him face to face and you like to let him sit in the chair with you and you do a great job snuggling him.
*You LOVE art!  It's one of your most favorite things and spend so much time at your art desk being creative!
*You've recently taken a liking to baby dolls and really love to play with your new dolly Anya you got for Christmas.

She was up at 6:00 A.M. (on a Saturday!) ready for her party!  She chose a "Winter Wonderland" theme this year and did a lot to help get ready.  She made the party favors for all her cousins:  measured out the cocoa and marshmallows and did all the cutting for the tags.  She helped decorate the cupcakes and designed her own birthday cake!

Decorating her cake!

After Elsa's party we went to the movie theater for the first time.  We saw "Moana" and the kids were very excited to go, were pumped to have their own popcorn and pop, and then got a bit nervous once the previews started since it was so loud.  Thankfully the previews were louder than the movie. There were a couple of loud spots in the movie that startled them, but Elsa finished with, "that was awesome!"  Such a fun way to spend time together as a family.

She's so excited to be 6!
Gavin wanted to show us how old he is too!  :)

Happy 6th Birthday Sweet Girl!
