Elsa was super excited about going to Sandy Pines this weekend. She talked about it all week and it was the first thing she asked about on Saturday morning when she woke up. She remembered bits and pieces of Sandy Pines from last summer, but was in awe when we pulled in. She was all over the place, checking things out. Gavin didn't remember any of it, so it was all new to him. We had a nice time. We went for golf cart rides, played at the park, had ice cream, went to the "treat" store, played at the water park, raced cars, and played outside. Elsa and Gavin got to sleep on one side of the loft, both in big kid beds. Elsa was pretty excited about that and did a great job sleeping and napping in her big girl bed. Gavin, on the other hand, decided the new found freedom of getting out of bed was more fun than sleeping in the bed. So our night ended with Chad and me getting about three hours of sleep and then Gavin sleeping in. But it still wasn't enough sleep for him. Poor buddy was just exhausted and didn't nap well and is either fighting a cold or allergies and seemed to be feeling miserable. That helped us to decide to end our Sandy Pines trip a day early and head home for a, hopefully, good night of rest! Elsa was bummed and was looking forward to another night in her "Sandy Pines bed" but was okay when she heard we'd go back again.

| Gavin's first trip down the water slide. |
 |
| He loved it and wanted to do it again and again! |
 |
| Playing at the Splash Pad was fun too! |

| Elsa loved the pool this year! She didn't want us to catch her when she jumped off the side. She'd go under and come right back up and swim to the side. She even swam to the other side of the pool to just get away from us and prove that she's a big girl! :) Here she was super safe with her dolphin floaty and her monkey floaty. She went down the water slide many times too! I didn't get a picture because I couldn't figure out a way to snap pictures of her on the slide and deal with trying to keep Gavin out of the pool at the same time! |
