One Week Old

I cannot believe a whole week has passed us by since Gavin has been part of our family.  It's amazing how quickly it went!  It's a bit of a blur of figuring out two kids - remembering the habits of a newborn and keeping a 20 month old busy enough to keep her out of trouble!  Chad was home this entire week and it was wonderful.  It was nice that we could both spend some one on one time with Elsa while the other was cuddling with Gavin.  I am a bit nervous about him going back to work next week.  Slowly, we'll get into a routine and get things figured out with him working all day.

We think Gavin has already changed in just a week!  He sleeps well during the day in the bouncer, swing, or pack and play, but at night - he only wants to be held.  So his nights and days are all mixed around - but he's only a week old!  I just keep telling myself that.
He is ready to eat about every two hours and currently it takes him about 45 minutes to an hour to eat, which makes doing much of anything else hard.  At night, if he's being held, he will-sometimes-sleep three hours, possibly four.

Elsa is still fascinated with "baby" but hasn't seemed to pick up on being gentle around him.  She loves to hug and kiss him and gets frustrated if he's sleeping and is told to let him be. :)
