We all took half days on Friday and headed to St. Johns for Relay for Life. We got there just after the event started. The kids love going to Relay each year. It's such a bittersweet time for me. I love that they love it, but it's sad that my kids have to experience it since cancer has had such a big impact on our family.
Despite all of that, we were there...ready to walk and stand up against cancer. The kids enjoyed making crafts, playing on the park, walking/running around the track (they walked a LOT this year!), playing the event games, and being with family. We stayed the night in our camper and of course there was both good and bad weather moments, but rain boots and umbrellas made it not quite so terrible to walk in the rain. Our event raised a lot of money to put toward cancer research and we just keep hoping and praying that a cure can be found soon.
